Mountains and Moons (or Triangles and Circles)

A Sheet of paper was set up as shown in the photograph above, underneath two templates, one comprising of triangles, the other circles.
Using either felt tip pens, crayons, pencils or watercolours I could outline or colour in the shapes.
I did this 5 times, setting a time limit each for each sheet of paper. There were no other rules.


During the first two attempts I was very conscious of the time constraints upon me and therefore was trying to simply get something down on the paper.
During the fifth attempt I was aware that I had a lot of time and slowed considerably, I had too much time and began to fill in unnecessarily.

The third and fourth were around the perfect balance between having too little and too much time. Enough to make informaed choices about colour and position but not too much so that I began to spoil the picture.
